AK-Player Editor's Review

AK-Player is a freeware video and audio player. It allows you to zoom, adjust the playback speed, rate videos, and it has some extra features which are quite nice. One example is the fact that the publisher uses a Microsoft Agent character (James.acs) for helping you learn to use the program. This character can take you on a tour of the application.

The application also features a built-in search engine which can find multimedia files on your computer and add them to a special list which allows you to play any one of them. AK-Player opens a new window each time the video playback is started.

Unfortunately, this program doesn't have a nice user interface. The buttons are sometimes hard to find, and right clicking the program's windows doesn't do anything. The main window looks like a crippled space ship which fell on one side.

Pluses:

Drawbacks / flaws: This movie player won't work unless you install all the required playback codecs.

In conclusion: Unless you want to view multiple videos at the same time, this software is not very useful. You could try KMPlayer if you need a free, fully-featured video player.
